Valda Freeman-Karmo founded KAR-MO LLC in 2001 after a successful corporate career. She has led organizations for over 35 years in achieving superior business results. Valda is uniquely qualified to evaluate and improve the business performance of non-profits and the total supply chain: purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, customer service, and support functions. She worked throughout the supply chain at Procter and Gamble for 14 years as a highly sought-after change-agent for restructures and step-level systemic improvements. She also led global start-ups of new products and created new global supply chains.
She is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and collaborates with clients to deliver Strategic Performance Improvement. She has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineer from Purdue University and an MBA in International Business from the University of Cincinnati. She also is a 4th degree Master Black Belt in Taekwondo.
She is a curriculum developer for the Sankofa Education Enrichment Program which focuses on African and African American history and families thinking critically about race today. She is also Co-leader of the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati's African American Family Network.
Always innovating, she is partnering with others to launch a startup company to manufacturer her wearable device invention that notifies police when a person with a diagnosed mental assisted ability (user) is a policing suspect to aid the police in decisions regarding the use of force, reducing the number of fatal police shootings.
